Far Cry Primal getting new Survival mode next month, PC version to get 4K textures

Ubisoft has gone on to announce that Far Cry Primal is all set to be bestowed with an update that will add a Survival mode to it. It will be released for free on April 12 for all three platforms, but it’s only the PC version which will also get the ability to support 4K textures on capable machines.

Far Cry Primal’s super difficult Survival mode will be based on the permadeath concept, which means once the protagonist dies, you will have to start the game all over again. However, you can choose to play this mode in any difficulty level of your choice.

Moreover, if you die in the middle, you’ll be given an option of starting from that point provided you received a certain amount of completion points. Survival mode will come with a stamina gauge that depletes with certain moves, and makes you weaker as it runs out. It can only be filled again by sleeping.

While this mode in Far Cry Primal will indeed allow you to fast-travel, it will consume stamina and food each time you do that. There are a wide number of other changes that will be making their way into this Survival mode, in order to make the game more difficult.

One would wonder if there are new Trophies and Achievements included, considering how big a change this update will be introducing to Far Cry Primal. But Ubisoft hasn’t been able to do that due to fact that it’s a free update. The company has however, added Ubisoft Club Challenges, if you are into them.

Again, April 12 is the date on which the Survival mode update will be issued for Far Cry Primal.
