Overwatch closed beta gets delayed until February

Fans of Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch have been awaiting its second closed beta since quite a while now, but they’ll be disappointed to know that it has been delayed by its makers. The closed beta test was supposed to take place this month, but has been moved into February citing two reasons.

The first reason is that it is taking too long for the developers to respond to the feedback that has arrived from the first closed beta. And the second reason happens to be the fact that a new game mode will be added to the Overwatch beta this time around.

Details about this mode have been kept a secret for now, but we do know that it will be added over and above the two modes – Point Capture and Payload – which were already available through the first beta. Blizzard has even mentioned that fresh maps will also be introduced in order to complement this mode.

Overwatch developers moreover, will be utilizing the additional time to add some additional polish to the game’s progression and reward system. In case you’re wondering, this closed beta test will only be available for PC gamers, despite the fact that the final game is slated to be released for the PS4 and the Xbox One as well.

Amongst all this, there’s still no word on when Overwatch will be released fully. This multiplayer first-person shooter puts emphasis of cooperative gameplay and features various ‘heroes’ who have their own set of abilities and skills.

Like we said, the second closed beta of Overwatch on PC will commence in February on an undisclosed date. Those who wish to register for it can head to Battle.net in order to do so.
