Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare discs will be needed to play Modern Warfare Remastered

If you’ve forgotten, this year’s Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will come with a free and exclusive copy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered bundled with it. Funnily enough, a large number of people are more excited for the latter than the former, but Activision has found a way to disappoint them a little.

It has revealed that all those who buy disc copies of Infinite Warfare will need the disc to be inserted into their consoles in order for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered to work. Those who buy digital copies however, will of course have no such requirement.

This has indeed sparked off a string of negative responses from fans of the series. Apparently, a number of gamers are so excited for Modern Warfare Remastered that they had decided to sell off their copies of Infinite Warfare immediately after buying. It’s most probably this that has prompted Activision to take this action.

Legacy and Legacy Pro editions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will be bundled with free copies of Modern Warfare Remastered. Those who buy boxed PS4 copies will receive the old game in the form of a download code, while those on the Xbox One will have it incorporated into the same disc (though an additional download would still be needed).

As for Steam gamers, their Legacy Edition will include Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered both. An Internet connection will moreover be required to play even the single-player version of remastered offering.
