Far Cry 3 Multiplayer Beta Headed for PS3 and Xbox 360

Fans eagerly awaiting the launch of Far Cry 3 can gear themselves up to scrounge for beta codes, as a closed multiplayer beta will be conducted for the title this summer. Ubisoft has chosen to leave PC gamers out of this test, as the beta will only be playable on the PS3 and Xbox 360.

A total of six classes will be available to choose from, and the action will take place across multiple maps and modes, including the new Firestorm mode. Moreover, weapon upgrades and customizations would also be making their way into the beta. Apart from zip-lining, combat sliding, psyche gas and barrel bombs, other gameplay features that will be seen in this test comprise teamplay-focused experiences with support points and weapons.

The closed multiplayer beta has been announced as an invitation only affair. GameStop PowerUp Rewards members who purchase Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier from the retailer will be able to avail of free codes for either of the two platforms on which the test will be conducted. And there are other ways to jump into the beta as well. Five hundred codes are to be won on the game’s official Facebook page, whereas Ubi.com, farcrygame.com, as well as other partner social channels and community and media websites will also be holding code giveaways.

No specific date has been conferred to the Far Cry 3 multiplayer beta as yet, but it has been mentioned that it will go live for the PS3 and Xbox 360 this summer. The game is slated to launch on September 4, 2012 and can be pre-ordered now at a price of 59.99 USD (approx. Rs. 3,270).
