Mechromancer and Captain Scarlett DLC packs for Borderlands 2 arriving on PSN today

The new Mechromancer characters class for Borderlands 2 has already hit Xbox Live and PC, but it will be landing on PSN only later today along with the game’s new Captain Scarlett DLC. The latter is the first story-based content being launched for the title, and will be made available for free to all those who’ve purchased the game’s Season Pass which is priced at 29.99 USD (approx. Rs. 1,590).

The Mechromancer DLC allows gamers to play as Gaige whose special power is the ability to control a robot called Deathtrap. Moreover, she is also able to manipulate electricity. Along with this character, added items like Gearbox guns, Vault Hunter’s Relic and a golden key which unlocks a rare item in the game’s Sanctuary Loot Chest also make their way into the download. Those who had pre-ordered their copies of the title can get the add-on for free, while otherwise, it will sell at 9.99 USD (approx. Rs. 530).

Furthermore, the Captain Scarlett DLC, which is named Captain Scarlett and her Pirate’s Booty will also go live today, according to a post on the official PlayStation blog. This is the first in the set of four planned campaign DLC packs for the game. It revolves around Captain Blade’s Lost Treasure of the Sands, and takes place in an ‘expansive desert’ setting which comprises a bandit-filled shanty town called Oasis. It will be made available for all three platforms that the game is available on.

Those who don’t possess the Season Pass for Borderlands 2 will be able to buy the Captain Scarlett DLC pack at a price of 9.99 USD (approx. Rs. 530).
