An all-new Far Cry 3 High Tides co-op DLC has been announced by its maker, while also disclosing that the content will be doled out exclusively to PS3 gamers sometime during this January. Two fresh chapters to the highly appreciated game’s co-op campaign will be introduced by the add-on, and will be developed by Ubisoft Massive, the same studio which has crafted the title’s online component. Its official artwork has also been revealed by the developer, and can be spotted in the space below.
This pack will be infused with two entirely new co-op chapters called Jailbreak and Redemption. These are said to kick in the ultimate results of all the hard work Ubisoft Massive has put into the game’s original co-op campaign. Set to begin where the first six chapters left off, the Far Cry 3 High Tides co-op DLC will trace the final moments of the gang. New missions, tougher fights and bigger competitions have been revealed to form part of the entire experience.
This game was released for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in North America just yesterday. Its European and Australian launches however had taken place on November 30 and November 29, respectively. It is an open world first-person shooter with a lot of emphasis on role-playing elements. Acting as a sequel to 2008’s Far Cry 2, it presents gamers with a story that’s set on a tropical island which stands somewhere between the Indian and Pacific Oceans.
It traces protagonist Jason Brody’s journey on a vacation with his group of friends, who are taken prisoner by a pirate lord named Vaas upon landing on the island. Vaas’ sole intention is to extort ransom money from their parents, and sell them into slavery. Jason is now faced with the task of escaping himself, and also of saving his friends from the mayhem. Usual multiplayer components as well as cooperative gameplay have also been infused into the title.
It can be purchased now for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC at price of 59.99 USD (approx. Rs. 3,273). The Far Cry 3 High Tides co-op DLC release date for the PS3 is still unknown, but it’s expected to hit availability status this January.
