Borderlands 2 Gunzerker Class Detailed by Gearbox

Wielding two guns at once is the primary skill that is exhibited by the newly unveiled Gunzerker class from Borderlands 2, as explained by developer Gearbox recently. Intricate skill trees that also form a part of this game, would ultimately decide how these primary skills get modified as players progress within this upcoming title.

While speaking to IGN, Gearbox lead writer Anthony Burch and lead designer Jon Hemingway revealed a considerable amount of background information about the new character named Salvador who falls under the Gunzerker class. He is a native from Pandora and the Hyperion is after him as they want to eradicate all the ‘bandits’ from the planet. A total of three skill trees would be made available to gamers who select Salvador to be their playable character.

“We certainly added more skills. We wanted the trees to be more unique. Everybody in the first game was implied to have just come to Pandora looking for the vault. Salvador (the Gunzerker) is actually a native of Pandora and the idea is that he sort of protected a town wherever he lived out in the sticks. Once Hyperion came to the planet they’ve been on this quest to eradicate all the ‘bandits’ from Pandora, but in their mind that’s everybody who is not part of the Hyperion corporate family,” Anthony Burch shared with the website.

First among his three skill trees is called rampage and is termed as being a ‘whirlwind of destruction.’ This tree contains devastative skills that have their names derived from movie quotes. The second skill tree is called the Brawn and endows players with taunting abilities as well as enhanced damage reduction. Lastly, there’s Gun Lust which supposedly lets gamers do ‘crazy or interesting things’ with guns.
