The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, Third DLC for Borderlands Available

Borderlands is the cartoonie action video game from 2K released in October last year to mostly favourable reviews. The game has been quite well supported post-release with two pieces of DLC, The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned and Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot. Now 2K Games sends word that a third chunk of downloadable content titled The Secret Armory of General Knoxx is available for the Xbox 360, and will be available for the PS3 and PC today February 25, 2010.

Borderlands DLC

“Players have embraced the action-packed mayhem of the Borderlands saga and we made sure that they had plenty to chew on with our first two DLC entries – The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned and Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot,” Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K explained. “With The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, we continue to deliver on our promise of more Borderlands action by unleashing more ways for our fans to deal out even more raw bloody death and co-op carnage.”

The third piece of downloadable content acts as a game add-on, picking up right where the Borderlands game left off. An alien vault has been discovered and unlocked, and players must now face the wrath of the vengeful Atlas Corporation and General Knoxx. Vault hunters must destroy the munitions hoard and protect Pandora, defeating General Knoxx and his Crimson Lance force. The DLC features more than 16 million unique weapons.

The Secret Armory of General Knoxx delivers an intense single-player or co-operative entertainment experience and increases the level cap from 50 to 61. It also introduces new vehicles allowing for 4-player off-road mayhem, explosive combat missions which unlock areas never seen before, and ever more difficult challenges.

The Secret Armory of General Knoxx downloadable content can be downloaded from the Xbox Live Marketplace for 800 Microsoft Points. The DLC is scheduled to release today February 25, 2010 on the PlayStation Network for the PS3 and on the Gearbox software store, Steam and Direct2Drive for the PC for a price of 9.99 USD (approx. Rs. 465).
