We had reported about Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising getting ”˜Skirmish’ DLC and title update a couple of months back. The game is a first person shooter fashioned by Codemasters. The company now announces the availability of a second patch and new DLC pack entitled ”˜Overwatch’ for the PC. The downloadable offering provides two game-altering multiplayer modes namely Blindside and Supremacy as well as new Fire Team Engagement missions.
In Blindside, a team of attackers are pitted against a team of defenders. The former team must complete three objectives while the latter are tasked with stopping them at all costs. The first two objects can be completed in any order while the final objective is acquired only once the other two are complete. To make the objective-based mode more challenging, players are also under a set time limit.
Supremacy is noted to be an objective-based territory control mode where the team attains points by holding one of the five capture points. All the capture points possess an asset like access to off-board fire support. The team with the most points at the conclusion of every round or the first group to reach the points limit is declared the winning team. The group that holds all the territories together under its control wins the match.
The new modes come complete with two Fire Team Engagement missions namely Friendly Skies and Hostile Takeover. Friendly Skies sees the PLA anti-aircraft artillery preventing U.S. airborne reinforcements from entering into the combat zone. Gamers have to then defend their position from an impending PLA counter attack. Hostile Takeover is based in the village of Armudan which sees enemy movement. Players are assigned with the task of ridding the area of the PLA and establishing a perimeter in order to face a new foe assault.
