Battlefield: Bad Company 2 coming soon, EA DICE Confirms

An Electronic Arts division, DICE has recently announced the development of Battlefield Bad Company 2. This time around again the Bad Company bunch, find themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time. They have to survive using whatever they can. In the meantime players can sharpen their skills with Battlefield 1943, an all new multiplayer game releasing this summer at the Xbox Live Marketplace, PlayStation Store and for the PC.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 features the Dice Frostbite engine and has loads of destructive weapons and heavy vehicles to nuke anything that impedes their journey. The game features both online and offline play. And for those war junkies, Battlefield Bad Company 2 will be available on the PS3, Xbox 360 and the PC.

Meanwhile Battlefield 1943 will have to do. Taking players back to World War 2, the game offers up to 24 players in multiplayer mode over many classic and tropical locations including Iwo Jima, Wake Island and Guadalcanal. The aerial dogfights and close quarter trench combat will keep players coming back to experience war once they have a taste for it.

“Bad Company 2 takes everything that players liked in the original and ups the ante more vehicles, more destruction and more team play,” remarked Karl Magnus Troedsson, Executive Producer Battlefield Franchise, DICE. “Battlefield 1943 is a new take on a blast from the past classic coming to life with brand new technology that we’re eager to get into players hands.”

Atlus has not announced any release date although Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is expected to hit stores by the end of 2009 or early 2010. The game is published by EA and developed by Digital Illusions CE which is also known as DICE.
