The Injustice: Gods Among Us release date has come to the fore finally even as Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment have unveiled its Battle Edition. The fighting title featuring characters from the DC Comics franchise will be arriving in North American territories for the PS3, Xbox 360 and the Wii U on April 16, whereas its European launch for the same platforms will take place on April 19.
The Battle Edition of Injustice: Gods Among Us seems to be a North America-exclusive, and it will be doled out only for the PS3 and Xbox 360. It will come bundled with a fight stick featuring official artwork from the title. Other additions include three exclusive skins for it based on Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman from DC Comics – The New 52. The Fight Stick itself is being described as a lightweight controller that kicks in a non-skid foam underside, a lockout feature for the Start, Select and Guide buttons and an adjustable illumination for the buttons and joystick. It will be priced at 149.99 USD (approx. Rs. 8,215).
As we had reported in September last year, the game will even be dished out in the form of collector’s editions. Their international versions come equipped with a 25cm collectible statue featuring Batman and Wonder Woman. Moreover, they also comprises unique steelbook packaging, an Injustice comic book and three exclusive skins based on Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman from DC Comics – The New 52.
And then there’s the North American version of the same which comes with a slightly different statue of Batman and Wonder Woman with the Fortress of Solitude and the Last Son of Krypton’s escape ship. The comic book and the exclusive skins remain common, but a digital download of a DC Universe animated film called Justice League: Doom gets introduced to this variant.
This game is under development currently from the creator of the immensely loved Mortal Kombat, NetherRealm Studios. It contains a strong roster of characters from the DC Universe, and has its focus set on one-on-one matches that are fought on a two-dimensional plane, with the characters and backgrounds being rendered in a three-dimensional fashion. The release date details of Injustice: Gods Among Us for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U have been mentioned in the space above.
