BlazBlue Chrono Phantasma Announced for Japanese Consoles

Come winter, gamers in Japan will get to jump into yet another BlazBlue game titled BlazBlue Chrono Phantasma. It is all set to embark on a location test at Akihabara’s Hey arcade which will run from August 6 to August 12, 2012.

Andriasang confirmed the news of this title recently, while revealing that a total of three fresh characters will be featured within it. Amane Nishiki, Bullet and Azrael are the names of these new fighters. A Japanese trailer released with the announcement provides glimpses of these characters. While Nishiki seems to be a wielder of ribbons and hand fans, Bullet has the power of fire at her disposal. Azrael on the other hand appears to be an embodiment of style and strength combined.

Other new features will also be comprised within the title. Apart from backgrounds, skill sets for current characters as well as background music will have been renewed. The first installation to this fighting game series was released in the form of BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger in 2008 for arcades, with its launch on other platforms having come in 2009. Developed by Arc System Works, this title was followed up by BlazBlue: Continuum Shift which received two revised versions: Continuum Shift II and Continuum Shift Extend.

Although they have been built for arcades, these games have made their way to most of the main platforms that include the PS3, Xbox 360, PC, PSP and the PS Vita. A spin-off title named BlayzBloo: Super Melee Brawlers Battle Royale was also made available for the DSi XL in 2010.

BlazBlue Chrono Phantasma is slated to hit Japanese consoles during the winter of this year. There’s no news though about a western version.
