Midway Games announced yesterday that the company has sold approximately 1.8 million copies of Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe worldwide for the Xbox 360 and the PS3.
Ed Boon, who is the co-founder and creative director of Mortal Kombat stated, “Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe was the result of countless hours of hard work by many people, and seeing the game surpass the million-seller plateau makes it worth all the effort.” He added that they are hard at work on the next version of Mortal Kombat and looking forward to reveal more soon.
Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe keeps the winning streak going by setting many internal Midway records. It was the most pre-ordered of the MK series in the company’s history. And more than 3.6 million Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe battles have been fought online around the world for the PS3. These figures are according to numbers from GameSpy Technology.
Two packages of Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe are available. The standard edition of MK vs. DC Universe retails at USD 59.95 (approx. Rs. 2,950). In addition to the standard package, a limited ‘Kollector’s Edition’ of Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe is still available for USD 69.95 (approx. Rs. 3,445).
