PS4 Games line-up detailed

A wide range of PS4 games were revealed yesterday night at the unveiling event of the new console. The image posted right below features all the developers who’ll be creating games for the new console. First party as well as third party content made a show at the gaming spectacle; however, there was still no mention of anticipated titles like the next Uncharted, The Last Guardian and many more. We were nonetheless delighted owing to the newly revealed games, some of which came as absolute surprises.

WWS Japan Studio is developing this action-based platformer PS4 game which revolves around its title character who has been built by a scientist with the use of relics from a long lost civilization. Knack possesses mysterious powers that make for various gameplay opportunities.

Killzone: Shadow Fall

Killzone: Shadow Fall

A gameplay demo of Killzone: Shadow Fall was Sony’s way of demonstrating the incredible graphics capabilities of its next-gen machine. Set thirty years after the events in Killzone 3, it revolves around the rivalry between Helghast and Vektans factions, who live side by side in a futuristic city that has been divided by a vast wall.

We didn’t get to see any glimpse of Gran Turismo 6, but MotorStorm developer Evolution Games made up for that by unveiling Drive Club, a first-person racing title focused on team-based experiences. It has been existent as a concept for 10 years, and the studio has finally decided to create it for Sony’s next-gen console.

InFamous: Second Son

InFamous: Second Son

The third iteration to the incredibly popular inFamous series has finally been revealed in the form of InFamous: Second Son which got a trailer as well. This new game involves a completely different protagonist named Delsin Rowe, and takes place seven years following the events in the last game. The new protagonist has smoke-based powers, while other gameplay details still remain undisclosed.

The Witness

The Witness

The Witness is a game being developed by Jonathan Blow and his team which had made the much loved Braid. It is a puzzler set inside an open world environment which has been created using a colorful art style. Blow announced that he and his team have been working on the title for three and a half year, and plan to release it first for the new PlayStation console during its launch window. It could make its way to other machines later on.

Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono took center stage yesterday to unveil the studio’s fresh engine named Pantha Rhei. The first game to be using this technology is dubbed Deep Down, and by the looks of the demo that can be spotted below, both the engine as well as the game look promising.

All that talk about Watch Dogs also being a next-gen title turned out to be true, even as Ubisoft announced that Sony’s new console will be getting the upcoming game. Bungie has let go of its Xbox-exclusivity, and revealed that Destiny will be dropped onto Sony’s next-gen console as well. The title was unveiled only a few days back. It is a first-person shooter featuring a ‘shared world environment.’ Along with this console, it is also scheduled to arrive on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
