There are graphics enhancements, pure destruction, super heroes gone evil, time travel (Yes, that’s right), a space craft and a zombie apocalypse. So what are you waiting for? Go check out our handpicked selection and be sure to watch the videos embedded for more details on each mod.

1. icEnhancer:

icEnhancer

Sure, Grand Theft Auto IV looks good and Rockstar has designed Liberty City in great detail. But what if we told you that you could make the graphics even better? icEnhancer does just that. Created by Hayassam Keilany, this add-on delivers better textures, making the game look more realistic.

What you can expect are richer colors and reflection. However, this patch is resource hungry. So if you’re running the game on a low-end PC or at minimum requirements, we’d recommend a pass on this one.

2. No car friction:

Imagine walking down a street only to see cars flying all over the place, what would you do? Well, the obvious answer is to run for cover which is probably what you’d be doing if you were to implement the no car friction tweak.

Expect nothing more than complete mayhem from this. Enabling it is pretty simple and doesn’t require you to install any additional files, except edit the car friction values in an existing one to a negative number.

3. Superman:

Liberty City looks gorgeous even without the extra visual enhancements listed here. So if you’re looking for a very convenient way to admire the city’s beauty from the high skies, you’re going to have become Superman which is totally possible by the way. This is a simple script which gives you a custom Superman model (there are a few choices) and various powers such as invincibility, ridiculous running speed, heat vision, powerful wind blow, great strength and a lot more.

Of course, you can also fly, but there’s no X-Ray vision as yet. Now let’s all be honest here – No one’s going to save the day in Liberty City, rather you’d be going about raking havoc.

4. Iron Man:

Iron Man

Not a big ‘Man of Steel’ fan? Well, Niko has access to the Iron Man suit as well. With this script you can choose between multiple armors and the HUD has been customized to deliver a more detailed experience.

You can do a lot of things with the suit including flying around Liberty City, lifting and throwing vehicles around the place and blasting stuff up with rockets, a mini-gun and the repulse canons located on the hands as well as at the chest. What makes this unique is that you can summon enemies to fight against and allies to cover your six.

5. Hulk:

Hulk

The Grand Theft Auto series goes well with destruction and if you’ve got a rage problem, you’re not the only one. This mod allows you to turn Nikko into the Incredible Hullk and also give him a lot of powers.

Apart from normal melee attacks, you can send everything around you flying with the thunder clap or by simply throwing things around. And those are just the start – The script also allows you to climb buildings and catch rockets as well as pedestrians and throw them around too. There are special sound effects onboard as well.

6. Crimson Mecha:

Ever wondered what the Hulk would look like in the Iron Man armor? Well, the Crimson Mecha model is the best we’ve come across that fits the description.

The robot model is designed with high quality textures and is very detailed with realistic reflection as well as lighting. Just so you know, this machine is built for chaos with dual guns mounted on the hands.

7. Millennium falcon:

Millennium Falcon

There’s something for everyone in Grand Theft Auto 4 even Star Wars fans. Rockstar has omitted the ability to fly around in a plane since Liberty City is rather small compared to San Andreas. Well, with mods, surveying the skies is possible, but wouldn’t you rather do it in style? With this mod, you can spawn the Millennium falcon in-game.

8. Back to the Future:

Back to the Future

Inspired by the popular movie franchise, Back to the Future let’s you travel in time. No, seriously – The script allows you to spawn a custom DeLorean and with the time circuits activated, you can travel to the past and future once you’ve hit 88MPH, or to a desert area in the year 1885.

9. Zombie apocalypse:

Zombie Apocalypse

Now, be honest, we all want a zombie apocalypse to happen. Of course, not in real life, but you could have it in GTA. Left 4 Liberty: Infection is as you’ve guessed a mash up of L4D and well, Grand Theft Auto. The infection has spread across the city, but the undead only come out at night.

You can train bodyguards to protect you. And if you get bit, you can head over to the nearest ambulance for an antidote or die trying. There are a lot of details put into this mod like vehicles having limited fuel, citizens defending themselves, helicopter attacks and much more.
