Batman: Arkham Origins faces delay in UK for Wii U, 3DS and boxed PC versions

While its other versions are on track for obeying their release date, Batman: Arkham Origins is seeing a delay in the UK for its Wii U, boxed PC and 3DS (Blackgate) editions. Instead of coming out on October 25, they will be hitting the market on November 8. Warner Bros. has confirmed this delay to CVG, but hasn’t given any particular reason for the same.

For those wishing to grab Batman: Arkham Origins digitally for PC, October 25 is still the date on which they’d be allowed to do so. Same applies to the game’s PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. This means it’s only the main title’s Wii U and boxed PC editions that are affected by the delay. Furthermore, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, an accompanying handheld version aimed at the PS Vita and the 3DS will be seen being launched for the former platform on time as well. The 3DS however, will only get it two weeks later, on November 8.

Announced for the first time in April this year, Batman: Arkham Origins is the third installment to the successful series, but it’s set to act as a prequel to it. Moreover, series creator Rocksteady Studios is not at the helm of its development this time around, with the reigns having been handed over to Warner Bros. Games Montréal. Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate on the other hand will act as a companion handheld game for the main title.

And lastly, there’s even an Android and iOS fighting game – also titled Batman: Arkham Origins – which should be released soon as well.
