The trailer is finally out, and after 6 long years of anticipation, this is what we get! The trailer looks to kill by all means, starting off with the soundtrack. Well Halo has definitely left its mark somewhere. This one starts off with a melancholy fused with the trademark Duke Nukem theme playing alongside. The dream beats still sound as fresh as they did in 1996. Duke is shown pumping iron with a cigar in his mouth.
.06 seconds: 3D Realms logo appears.
.16 Seconds: The Assault trooper/captain from the series returns, trying to claw Duke from the first person perspective. The location of this ugly alien is at Earth. If you notice carefully, one of them is trampling a police car.
.23 seconds: We witness the Octobrain charging at Duke once again. This takes aboard an alien vessel or a place that has been infected by the mean looking alien badasses.
.29 seconds: The infamous Pig Cop makes his debut re-appearance, letting out a war cry quite similar to the one I saw in Halo 3, but this one looks meaner and much better. It stands over a bunch of dismantled troopers from the Earth’s defense force. If I am not wrong this is one of their own comrades, who has mutated cause he shares the same armor as his comrades. This mutated SOB pig also wears a bullet proof vest and looks exactly like the little screen shot that was posted by 3D Realms in the beginning of the year. There is blood splatter all around. This game has been banned in U.K, Australia and has been issued the A.O certificate in the U.S already.
.32 seconds: Duke drops the dumbbell.
.35 seconds: A humongous leech like creature is shown hovering around in a field of electricity, it looks like its trapped in a boiler room. A tiny screen grab of this particular level had appeared sometime in January this year. This ugly creature reminds of the beast from Black Mesa, the obnoxious claw like creature at the center of the blast pit. Its epicenter seems to be somewhere else and is hunting for Duke, Boss battle is my guess.
.39 seconds: Duke gets up and cracks his fist, we were witness to this screen grab yesterday, the original Lee Jackson Duke Nukem them starts to play in the background
.47-.50 seconds: Duke puffs out the smoke of the cigar, which forms the signature radioactive material logo.
.56 seconds: “I am looking for some alien toilet to park my bricks, who is first?” – Duke Nukem.
Most of the stuff in the trailer has already been seen and was expected, hope 3D realms decides to show some real mean gameplay to decide on the actual content of the game, which still leaves the question that whether Dr.Photon is Duke’s arch nemesis in this game as announced nearly 10 years ago. The video features Duke Voice actor Jon St. John and game composers Jeremy and Julian Soule.

This game will look absolutely stunning in motion not quite like Killzone 2 but pretty close, and the screenshot is all the proof I need to make such a claim. This is a real-time shot using the game engine. The jaggies on Duke’s shoulder are proof enough that this shot has not been pre rendered.
If all of us know our videogames at the back of our hand, the game is built on an advanced version of the Unreal 3.0 engine. Taking a closer look at the textures on the gloves and on Duke, most action junkies have seen a near similar effect being used in another adrenaline filled action game. I speak of none other than Epic’s Gears of War. Even the face and scowl are very reminiscent of our very own dear Marcus Fenix who is also due to hit back in the winter of ’08.
