Sony has finally released Driveclub after all those agonizing delays, but the special PS Plus Edition of the game is still not out in the open as of now. That’s because ever since the game’s official launch, its makers have been experiencing server troubles and connectivity issues which would apparently be worsened if the Plus version is released now. This PS4-exclusive racer from Evolution Studios features single-player content, but has been equipped with immense online integration which too is contributing the sever issues

Back in 2013, it was announced that all PS Plus subscribers will be provided with a free copy of Driveclub, but with a limited array of tracks and cars to choose from. As the title hit its release yesterday, its digital as well as boxed copies were doled out to eager gamers, but the PS Plus Edition failed to appear online. The game’s developers then took to Facebook to explain the situation. According to game director, Paul ”˜Rushy’ Rustchynsky, this delay is an attempt to make sure that a smoother server experience is made possible for those who have already bought the full version.

The developers have also held back the release of the companion Android and iOS apps for Driveclub, citing the same problem. And while the PS Plus Edition has been held back, those PS Plus members who have pre-ordered the full version of the game are indeed getting their downloads right now.
Driveclub is a team-based racer which is exclusively available for Sony’s PS4 console.
