Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition gets a gameplay showcase ahead of release

Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition the upgraded version of 2012’s much appreciated open world cop drama is all set to be released tomorrow for the PS4, PC and the Xbox One. Ahead of the launch, its maker has let out some videos which go on to showcase the game’s newly added graphical finesse. Apart from a re-mastered version of the same game, it also comes equipped with all the DLC packs that were released for the original by the developers.

Around seven minutes of high-definition gameplay can be seen in the videos that have been posted in the space below. They have been focused on different aspects of the game including daylight driving, cutscenes, combat and breakables as well as night market combat. According to the makers of Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition, several technological, audio and visual improvements have been infused into the game to make the environments of Hong Kong livelier than usual.

The original Sleeping Dogs was released by Square Enix for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in August 2012 to positive reviews. Developed by United Front Games and Square Enix London, the game is a GTA-style open world action-adventure which revolves around a protagonist named Wei Shen. He is an undercover Chinese-American police officer who is on assignment to infiltrate the Sun On Yee Triad organization in Hong Kong. This title is actually a spiritual success to the True Crime series, and had begun development under the name, True Crime: Hong Kong.
