F1 2013 announced with classic cars, no next-gen versions for now [Update]

F1 2013 has been announced by Codemasters, and this latest game from the much loved series is all set to rush onto store shelves this during this fall for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. No versions for the PS4, the Xbox One or even the Wii U have been revealed to be under development. The most interesting aspect about this year’s F1 title however is that it will be made available in standard and classic editions.

According to Eurogamer, both versions will feature a Classic mode for indulging in period content. All these races will be hosted by veteran commentator and journalist, Murray Walker. Coming to the standard edition of F1 2013, it can be noted that it will come loaded with content from the 1980s. This includes, five classic cars from Williams, Lotus and Ferrari, apart from appearances of legendary racers like Nigel Mansell, Emerson Fittipaldi and Mario Andretti. Circuito De Jerez and Brands Hatch circuits will also be made available in this edition.

And then there’s the highly-priced classic version of F1 2013 which will come equipped with all the above mentioned traits as well as content from 1990s. Additional tracks like Imola and Estoril will be featured in it, while six cars made by Ferrari and Williams will be included as well. Alain Prost, Jacques Villeneuve and Eddie Irvine are some of the drivers F1 2013 gamers will be able to play as.

Furthermore, it has also been revealed that this official Formula One game for 2013 will kick in full integration with the RaceNet community hub created by Codemasters. And it will also introduce mid-session saves. Price details of the both versions of the title are still to be disclosed.

Update: It has been confirmed that the Classic edition will cost 10 GBP (approx. Rs 900) more than the standard version.
