Codemasters has announced the arrival of its new Codemasters Racing label, under which DiRT Showdown will be first game to be launched worldwide. While it will initially be outed in European territories on May 24, 2012, its UK release will take place a day later, on May 25. It will come out in North America on May 29.
Besides, demo release dates of the game have also hit the scene. May 1, will mark the date on which this title’s trial version will be doled out for free through PSN, Xbox Live and Steam. A solo and a multiplayer event will be available in the demo for gamers to jump into. Along with the demo, the developer will be launching its new free online hub for Codemasters Racing games, dubbed RaceNet. This interactive community platform will enable fans to track their races, rivals and rewards.
In the UK, two retailers, namely Gamestation and Game are offering special Hoonigan edition copies of the game. Available for pre-order now, these packs come bundled with a range of added in-game content. This includes an in-game cash boost, an online XP multiplier, apart from Monster Energy liveries for the Kohler D350, Duke Coupe and Ford Fiesta Gymkhana 3, and Hoonigan liveries for the Holbrook Growler, Logan Vulture and Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X JUN, all to be redeemed via an online code.
DiRT Showdown will be released for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on the dates we’ve mentioned above. Its Hoonigan edition copies can be pre-ordered currently at a price of 39.99 GBP (approx. Rs. 3,340).
