With a new year already dawned upon us, we see Codemasters disclosing that the follow up to the acclaimed F1 2010 and sequel to the Formula One game, F1 2011 is currently in development and slated to release this September.
The upcoming racing game is scheduled to make its way onto the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC Games For Windows with Zapak Games distributing the offering in India. There are also custom-made handheld editions of F1 2011 expected to unveil for the Nintendo 3DS as well as Sony’s next generation portable entertainment system called NGP. Each of the handheld titles is touted to exploit the special characteristics of each platform.
F1 2011 is infused with technical and gameplay advancements both on as well as off track. There are also extended co-operative and competitive multiplayer components. According to the company, racing fans will be able to ‘Be the driver, live the life, go compete’. The upcoming title is packed with official teams, circuits and drivers plucked right out of the much-awaited 2011 FIA Formula One World Championship which includes the likes of Sebastian Vettel.
Furthermore, the latest season will also have 2011 Formula One Grand Prix Of India debuting at Jaypee International Race Circuit in Delhi as well as the revisiting of the iconic Nürburgring. The upcoming game is also being fashioned using the EGO Game Technology Platform that powered GRID, F1 2010 and DiRT 3.
Gamers can also stand a chance to play F1 2011 before its release as well as feature in future Development Diary videos. They have to simply pose a query pertaining to the game via a video uploaded to YouTube. If selected, they will be invited to Codemasters Birmingham for a hands-on of the game as well as meet and ask questions personally to the team next month.
Now up for pre-order, F1 2011 is slated to release into stores on September 23, 2011 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC Games For Windows as well as handled systems such as NGP and 3DS. The exact pricing details are unavailable at this point.
