Shenmue’s Nozomi Dropped from Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing

Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing is a mascot kart racing game in development with Sumo Digital for the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, DS, and PC. The game features many characters from various Sega franchises. Now Kombo is reporting that previously planned to appear in the game, Shenmue’s Nozomi has been dropped from the cast of Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing.

According to the web site, Executive Producer Steve Lycett has revealed, “We built Nozomi, but she won’t be in the game. She was going to ride on the back of Ryo’s bike, but there was the small issue of where does she go when the Forklift appears.”

But Shenmue fans will at least be pleased to known that Ryo Hazuki is still on for an appearance in the Sumo Digital and Sega title. And while having his erstwhile love interest relegated to oblivion, Ryo Hazuki and his forklift should keep Shenmue fans happy.
