F1 2009 zips into North American stores, hits PAL and UK soon

F1 2009 is based on this year’s season of the Formula One racing series. Back in September, publisher Codemasters revealed that the much awaited title included the Formulas 1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix. Players and fans of the acclaimed franchise will now be able to experience all this and more first-hand as F1 2009 can now be espied in stores.

The racing title is packed with all the teams, circuits and drivers featured in the 2009 F1 season. Drivers like Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton are featured for the first time in a Formula One game. The latest offering is also noted to be the first game to comprise of the 2009 Fia Formula One Constructors’ World Champions Brawn G. Besides this, players can also espy other new circuits like the Yas Marina in the United Arab Emirates and the Singapore night race.

Racing enthusiasts can take part in the Grand Prix Weekends as well as the practice sessions, qualifying and the race. They can even participate in the different modes the game has to offer. This includes whole 17 round Championship mode and three-season Career mode. The race is on to see who emerges at the top to get the coveted title of Fia Formula One Drivers’ World Champion. Also included into the title is Quick Races where gamers can easily jump into a race and Time Trials to set the fastest lap.

They can put their skill to the test by competing in various mini-games like gate challenges, flying laps and overtaking a set number of cars in Challenge mode. These modes can be taken advantage of in the Wii and PSP version of the game as well in competitive and co-operative multiplayer. The Wii version features two player split screen while the PSP version lets up to four gamers to play through ad hoc. The title suggests driver aids for a fair gameplay when competing against players with different skill levels.

Players in North America can already get their hands on F1 2009. The title is set to unveil into PAL territories and UK on the 19th and 20th of this month respectively. Gamers can even download the PSP edition of the game from the PlayStation Store. No pricing details are disclosed by the company as yet.
