Immortality has been receiving rave reviews that are painting it as one of the best games of 2022. If you don’t have a platform you can play it on right now, you might want to wait, as the game is scheduled to arrive on Netflix via Apple and Android devices “very soon.”
This announcement has been made through the game’s official Twitter handle, with the statement, “We are taking some extra time on our mobile release to ensure it’s the best possible experience for Netflix members around the world.”
The arrival of Immortality on Netflix will mean you will need to splurge no extra cash above your regular subscription in order to play the game. Netflix is going pretty big in gaming and this is yet another example of the same.
Immortality is an interactive film game from the mind of Sam Barlow, who is known for other similar titles like Her Story and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. Published by Half Mermaid Productions, it is available right now on Windows via Steam and GOG, and Xbox Series X/S via the Xbox Game Pass.
Immortality’s story revolves around a fictional model turned actress named Marissa Marcel who starred in three movies between 1969 and 1999, which were never released. Marcel has since gone missing and this is the central mystery for players to solve.
You start by examining a single clip from one of the three films. You can pause and click on a person or item of interest. Further, the game will show all other clips from the three films, as well as behind-the-scenes production footage and interview clips.
There’s no fixed release date for Immortality’s mobile release via Netflix but we’re expecting that to happen in the coming weeks.
