Assassin’s Creed Mirage Confirmed by Ubisoft

Assassin's Creed Mirage

Assassin’s Creed Mirage has been confirmed to be the next game from the Ubisoft franchise but no official details about it have been shared. However, a recent leak is giving us a fair idea of what to expect from this upcoming game that will purportedly be set in the city of Baghdad.

In case you’re unaware, Ubisoft is said to be working on two Assassin’s Creed games at the moment. While one of them has been revealed to be Mirage, the other one is called Assassin’s Creed Infinity and is some sort of online live service game.

Coming back to Mirage, Ubisoft will be revealing official details about it during its Forward livestream on September 10. But a leak has given us a good picture of what to expect from the upcoming game, which is being touted to go back to the series’ roots by opting out of RPG elements.

YouTuber j0nathan has said that the game will take strong inspiration from the first ever Assassin’s Creed title. According to him, there won’t be any levelling system or dialogue choices like in the recent games. The stealth-focused offering will apparently feature new animations though.

It’s being said that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be set in Baghdad from 860 to 870, a period that saw anarchy at Samarra in the Abbasid Caliphate. The protagonist will supposedly be named Basim and will have Eagle Vision. His weapon of choice will seemingly be a strong dagger.

Moreover, the leak has also stated that Ubisoft is working on a remake of the original Assassin’s Creed from 2007. Its technicalities will apparently be based on Mirage and a large part of its assets will also be borrowed from the new game.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage will apparently be released in spring 2023. Let us now wait until September 10 to get to know more about it.
