Formerly PlayStation-exclusive The Unfinished Swan now on PC and iOS

The Unfinished Swan

Eight years after its debut on the PS3, first-person adventure game The Unfinished Swan has landed on PC and iOS. No Android release is in sight for the time being, however. The much-loved puzzler is now available on Steam, the Epic Games Store as well as the Apple App Store for around Rs 400. Developed by Giant Sparrow, which is known for 2017’s What Remains of Edith Finch, the game is also available for the PS4 and the PS Vita through the PS Store. It was first released way back in 2012.

The Unfinished Swan is known for its unique gameplay. You start off with a completely white screen on which a boy named Monroe is chasing after a swan that has escaped a painting. At the same time, he is also learning about the story of a lonely king. The story is moved forward by progressively intricate puzzles that are solved by smashing blobs of black paint on the screen.

Sony Computer Entertainment had originally published the game on all PlayStation platforms, but the PC and iOS release has been picked up by Annapurna Interactive. The Unfinished Swan easily fits into the kind of catalogue that the publisher has been amassing over the past few years. This includes gems like Journey, Flower and What Remains of Edith Finch, among others.

Upon its release, The Unfinished Swan was met with considerably good reviews. Eight years is a long time for a game to be relevant, but the simple graphics and modest yet engrossing gameplay will surely have many excited for it.

As we said, The Unfinished Swan can now be downloaded by iOS and PC users at prices that approximately reach Rs 400.
