We’ve got new details on Tales from the Borderlands, the adventure game spin-off to Gearbox’s series that’s under development from none other than Telltale Games. Makers of the upcoming title have gone ahead and revealed the two protagonists who will form part of the experience, and have also disclosed some other details that are sure to get fans excited.
This information was doled out at a panel in the SXSW by Borderlands 2 writer Anthony Burch, its franchise director Matthew Armstrong, Telltale Games’ president Kevin Bruner and designer Harrison Pink. As has been revealed by Polygon, Fiona and Rhys are the names of the two new protagonists who will form part of Tales from the Borderlands. Both these characters were first seen in the VGX reveal trailer for the game.
Furthermore, this game has been announced to have been set on the planet of Pandora where both the first-person shooters from Gearbox Software have taken place. Its story will keep reintroducing us to different characters who have featured in the other two games from the Borderlands series. Staying true to its roots, Tales from the Borderlands will kick in some sort of shooting gameplay as well, but in a completely different vein from that of its predecessors of course.
Tales from the Borderlands will be an adventure game, and the fact that it’s coming from the masters of the genre, Telltale Games just raises the anticipation furthermore. The other big-ticket games on the company’s platter right now include The Walking Dead Season 2, The Wolf Among Us and a game based on Game of Thrones.
