It has been more than a year since Electronic Arts announced the first person action-adventure game, Mirror’s Edge at E3 last year. Now EA has sent word that they have collaborated with DC Comics’ WildStorm to come up with an exclusive, limited-edition comic book based on Mirror’s Edge.
Hank Kanalz, VP &GM, WildStorm commented, “Rhianna and DICE have created an astounding game with a great backstory. The characters have really come alive in the game, and we are happy that we will be able to add to the canon of the Mirror’s Edge universe with this project.”
Owen O’Brien is the senior producer at DICE. He says, “This partnership with DC Comics sets the stage as readers explore Faith’s world in Mirror’s Edge. The exceptional graphic style offered by the comic book genre is perfect for taking fans through her back-story. Frame by frame, page by page, we will learn more about the events that shaped both her and the city.”
The Mirror’s Edge comic book will be based on the game. The six-part comic series will blend the talents of Matthew Dow Smith, the artist and Rhianna Pratchett, who is the story designer and writer. The Mirror’s Edge game is expected to be out later this year on the PS3, Xbox 360 and the PC.
