Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Delayed By Ubisoft

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, the much-anticipated offering from the studio that gave us The Division series. has just been delayed. The game didn’t have a proper release date but it was indeed supposed to hit stores this year. That has changed now and it looks like it will be arriving in the fiscal year “2023-2024.”

The exact year is not clear yet as there hasn’t been a proper announcement. The change of date has been spotted in Ubisoft’s financial report for the first quarter of 2022. What this definitely means is that Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora won’t be arriving until at least March 31, 2023.

This game was first announced in March 2017 but it was only showcased at E3 2021. It will feature a standalone story within the Avatar universe. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora has been confirmed to feature an open world environment atop planet Pandora. It will have action-adventure gameplay, even as you play as Na’vi and embark on a journey across the Western Frontier of Pandora to push back the forces of the RDA, who seek to threaten it.

Meanwhile, Avatar: The Way of Water, the film to which the game acts as a tie-in, will hopefully be keeping its release date. This second film in the series will be released on December 16 after production was wrapped way back in September 2020.

Director James Cameron has three more movies planned for the series, moreover. If all goes to plan, they will be released in two-year intervals, with one arriving in 2024, another in 2026, and the final one in 2028.

Whether all of them will get big-budget tie-in games like Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora still remains to be known though. For now, let us wait and see when this game scheduled for release.
