Ghost Of Tsushima Director’s Cut Headed To PS5 and PS4 With New Content

Ghost Of Tsushima

Sony has announced a Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut edition that’s slated to release on August 20 for the PS5 and the PS4. It will feature new story content that will take place on neighboring Iki Island, while the Legends multiplayer component will also form part of the game.

Andrew Goldfarb, Communications Manager, Sucker Punch Productions, said “If you’re a history buff, you may know that in addition to Tsushima, the neighboring island of Iki was also invaded during this time period. Today we’re excited to reveal that a whole new chapter in Jin’s journey is coming and will take place on Iki.”

He added, “In this new story, Jin travels to the island to investigate rumors of a Mongol presence. But soon, he finds himself caught up in events with deeply personal stakes that will force him to relive some traumatic moments from his past.”

The PS4 version of Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut will feature cutscenes in lip-sync for Japanese voice-overs. More importantly, the game will take full advantage of the haptic feedback offered by DualSense controllers, apart from supporting 3D audio and 4K 60fps gameplay.

The makers have also announced that you will be able to transfer your save files to the PS5 to pick up where you left off. For new players, the Iki Island portion of the game will be available at the beginning in Act 2, after they reach the Toyotama region. And on both platforms, the Iki Island content will unlock new Trophies.

Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut will be priced at $69.99 on PS5 and $59.99 on PS4. Those who already own the PS4 version of the game will be able to purchase an upgrade for $19.99.
