Among Us Devs To Add New Features To Game Instead Of Reserving Them For Sequel

Among Us

Among Us developers have revealed that big changes are headed to the extremely popular game soon. They have also said that these additions were being prepped up for a sequel, but they’ve now decided to add them to the first game itself. The space-themed online multiplayer game developed by InnerSloth has been creating waves these past few weeks thanks to its addictive gameplay.

InnerSloth has said that it’s working on server issues that have been cropping up due to the sudden influx of players in the game. A big addition on its way is colorblind support, which means players will have other identifiers and certain color focused tasks. A friends/account system is also on the way to Among Us, apart from a new stage that’s themed after Henry Stickmin. InnerSloth has also promised plenty of other new features for the game.

The developers said in a blog post, “Us devs have had several long discussions about what we want to do with the game. When do we stop working on Among Us 1? What content goes into Among Us 2? The main reason we are shooting for a sequel is because the codebase of Among Us 1 is so outdated and not built to support adding so much new content. However, seeing how many people are enjoying Among Us 1 really makes us want to be able to support the game and take it to the next level. We have decided to cancel Among Us 2 and instead put all our focus into improving Among Us 1. All of the content we had planned for Among Us 2 will instead go into Among Us 1.”

Among Us is a social deduction game that asks players to identify the imposters among them. It’s currently available through Steam for PC, while Android and iOS ports are also live on respective app stores.
