Capcom has some MEGA news for Mega Man fans

Capcom recently hosted a livestream to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Mega Man in which it announced something awesome for fans of the series. Mega Man 11 is coming in 2018! But the big (pardon the pun) news is that it will be coming to all major platforms next year – Windows PC, Sony PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, of course.

Another interesting takeaway from the event was that Mega Man 11 will not feature 8-bit art. We don’t know how to feel about that, honestly. But the teaser (check it out below) is not as bad as we feared it would be. The change in aesthetics shows full 3D graphics laid against a 2D plane, making for an interesting visual effect.

As for Nintendo Switch users in particular, Capcom has declared that Mega Man Legacy Collection (1 – 6) and Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 (7 -10) will be rolled out for the console in spring 2018. The former will include a Rewind feature for those who want to turn back time and correct a mistake they regretfully made.

Wait, there’s more. If the original Mega Man titles 1 through 10 weren’t your thing, you’re probably not eager for Mega Man 11 either, right? All 8 games previously launched as part of the Mega Man X series will also be arriving on major gaming platforms in 2018! It’s not clear whether you’ll be able to buy the games separately or as a collection.

There’s no concrete date for the release of Megaman 11 in 2018; but we’re keeping our eyes peeled so we can update you on the same.
