Tom Clancy’s The Division beta could go live January 29

There’s still no official word on when the Tom Clancy’s The Division beta will be made available, but word out on the street is that January 29 is most likely the date on which that will be happening. Expected to be one of the most successful games of 2016, this Ubisoft title has its release date slated for March 8 this year.

While the game’s recently released alpha was limited to the Xbox One, its beta will be aimed towards the PS4 and PC gamers as well. The report on January 29 being the launch date for this beta has come via an email exchange a Reddit user had with UK-based retailer, FunStock Digital.

As VideoGamer points out, the exchange clearly shows a FunStock representative saying that the closed beta starts on the 29th of January. This person has even gone on to mention that keys to the beta will start being distributed in the next two weeks.

Tom Clancy's The Division

Retailers are highly likely to have premature information about the Tom Clancy’s The Division beta since they will be required to distribute keys to all those who have pre-ordered the game. An invite can also be earned by joining the waiting list or by making an offer for the latest Humble Bundle package.

Tom Clancy’s The Division is an open world offering with unique gameplay elements. It’s an action-based third-person shooter which has MMORPG elements embedded into its fabric. Ubisoft had announced this title during 2013’s E3, and it has subsequently faced a number of delays in its development over the years.

But March 8 is most definitely the date on which Tom Clancy’s The Division will be seeing the light of the day. What remains to be seen is whether January 29 is indeed the day on which its beta will go live or will we be forced to wait until February to jump into it.
