Tom Clancy’s The Division developers showcase Snowdrop Engine

The developers of Tom Clancy’s The Division have released a new video showcasing the ability of the Snowdrop engine to render beautiful experiences on next-gen platforms. Swedish studio, Massive Entertainment has detailed how the technology works, and how it’s used for rendering and placing objects and lighting.

Apart from that, an impressive tech demo showing a forest and some other areas has also been infused into the video. The only game that Snowdrop Engine is known to be employed by right now is Tom Clancy’s The Division which still remains without a release date. The engine has been built for PC and next-gen consoles, and it has been confirmed in the past that the Wii U has been left out of its possible platforms.

Tom Clancy’s The Division is an online third-person tactical shooter which features action-RPG mechanics as well. It was announced at Ubisoft’s press conference at last year’s E3 with a seven-minute gameplay demo which impressed lots of gamers from around the world. Currently, not much is known about this game, but we’re looking forwards to hearing from Ubisoft soon since it’s slated to be released later this year for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
