Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 gets revealed for new-gen and last-gen consoles

After a large number of murmurs having given away its existence beforehand, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 has finally been revealed in an official manner. This new game will go back to the series’ roots and will still feature a few gameplay additions. Later this year, it’s slated to arrive for the PS4 and the Xbox One at first, but its PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will follow shortly thereafter. As of now, there is no mention of a PC version however. Robomodo and Disruptive Games will be responsible for its development, whereas Activision will of course be handling the publishing duties.

Back in November last year, the company had confirmed that a new entry to the classic series in indeed under development, and will be released sometime in 2015. It was only last month that Tony Hawk himself revealed that this offering will grab the Pro Skater sub-title. Game Informer has now confirmed that the game will be called Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5, and will kick in a number of new features.

These include power-ups and the ability to shoot some kind of projectile. While single-player missions will be included in the title, competitive and cooperative online and offline gameplay will also be present in it. The player’s character will be able to transition between online and offline modes seamlessly, whereas the game will even be seen allowing you to craft your own skate parks which can be shared online for others to revel in.

Like we said, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 will be released later this year for the PS4 and the Xbox One, with its PS3 and Xbox 360 versions following shortly thereafter.
