Assassin’s Creed: Unity confirmed for next-gen release this year, teaser video out

The French revolution of the eighteenth century will indeed be the backdrop for Assassin’s Creed: Unity, Ubisoft’s new game from the ace series, which will only be released for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. A teaser for the title has also been let out by the developers, showcasing what’s being called ‘alpha game footage’ which looks incredibly polished and utterly impressive if you ask us. But going by past experiences, there are high chances that this extravagance will eventually be dumbed down upon release. Remember Watch Dogs’ initial PC rendered trailer?

Assassin’s Creed: Unity

Anyway, we’ll be pleased if Assassin’s Creed: Unity indeed manages to retain this amount of graphical finesse in its final form. The game is slated to be out during the holiday season, just like other AC titles from the past. The teaser trailer showcases historic locales from Paris, and even gives us a glimpse of the new assassin who’ll be playable through the game. If a recent rumor is to be believed, he’s named Arno. The trailer ends with the snapping of a guillotine blade with the logo of the game and other information appearing afterwards.

Although Assassin’s Creed: Unity is targeted only towards next-gen platforms, Ubisoft wouldn’t want to disappoint owners of the PS3 and the Xbox 360 for sure. As a report has pointed out, the company is busy prepping up another AC game codenamed Comet which will be doled out for the said platforms. There is still no word on whether either of the two new AC games will be seen landing on the Wii U or not.

We’ll have more on Assassin’s Creed: Unity as soon as more details about it are out.
