The highly touted Sniper Elite V2 can now be downloaded free of cost through Steam. This promotion however isn’t supposed to last for long, as it will go down by 1 p.m. EDT. This release comes just weeks prior to the release of this game’s sequel which is a next-gen offering aimed at the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
If you have a Steam account, sign in right now and go to the game’s page to click on the Install button. Sniper Elite V2 will then be added to your libraries and you can choose to download it whenever you wish. Sniper Elite V2 is a tactical shooter focused only on sniping, as its name suggests. It was first released in 2012 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, and later also made its way to the Wii U in the following year.
This game features single-player, competitive multiplayer as well as cooperative multiplayer gameplay. Developed by Rebellion Oxford, it follows the story of an American Office of Strategic Services officer who must detain or eliminate the scientists involved in the German V-2 rocket program while the Red Army invades. It received favorable reviews around the time of its release.
A sequel titled Sniper Elite III is now on the cards for this year. As motioned above, it will be released for next-gen consoles along with previous-gen ones, apart for PC of course. But for now, those who want to catch up on the series should rush to Steam to grab their free copies of Sniper Elite V2.
