Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel release date disclosed

October 14 has been revealed to be the release date of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, the next entry to the first-person shooter series. Along with this announcement, its makers have also let out a fresh trailer for the game which has featured inputs from Dance Central creator Harmonix, and as you would expect, the developer has managed to successfully leave its mark on it with all those wacky dance moves.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel

One would have thought that the next Borderlands game will be a PS4 and Xbox One affair, but that is not the case. This title is strictly aimed at the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC due to the fact that it’s being built using the same engine that was used by the previous game from the series. This in a way doesn’t make it a full-fledged entry which in our opinion should be called Borderlands 3 and could be slated for release sometime next year.

Wishes are wishes, but right now, at least this year we’ll be getting to treat ourselves to some more Borderlands. The Pre-Sequel is a joint effort between 2K Australia and Gearbox and it’s set between the first two entries from the series in terms of story. Of course, there are new characters and classes to be explored but the core gameplay consisting of intense first-person shooter gameplay riddled with role-playing elements, looting and exploration will indeed be maintained.

October 14 is the date for the North American release of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, whereas its launch in European regions will take place on October 17. The game can be pre-order now for all three platforms it’s supposed to be launched for.
