Bayonetta 2 finally gets a release date, coming this October

October 24 has been revealed by Nintendo to be the release date for Bayonetta 2 in Europe. This date for the Wii U exclusive game was earlier confirmed to be applicable for its North American version, but we now know that it’s relevant for the other major territory as well. And that’s not all; fans in Europe are also being treated to special editions of the title which will be released simultaneously with the regular version. Three different variants have been unveiled thus far for those hailing from the said region.

Bayonetta 2

This sequel to Platinum Games’ hit 2009 offering will be doled out in the form of a First Print Edition of which only 15300 copies are to be made. It will contain a boxed version of the first game, a specially packed copy of Bayonetta 2 and an artbook. Next is the Special Edition which just includes both the titles in separate cases, and nothing else. And then there’s the Solus Edition which just has a fancy name, and is nothing but a regular version of the game.

It should be noted that both Bayonetta as well as its new sequel will be hitting the Wii U eStore on the above mentioned release date. Those who will buy either one of the two will get a discount on the other game, as has been revealed by Nintendo. This is the first time Wii U owners will get to play the first title from the series as it had only been released for the PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2009.
