Today marks the beginning a double RP event in GTA Online which will last until August 3 and provide players with twice the number of points they earn over this period. Rockstar Games has moreover also announced that this weekend will be you final chance at grabbing the game’s Independence Day content, as it will be taken down once the period ends.
Like we said, the GTA Online double RP event will commence today and will last until midnight ET on August 3. Points earned in everything from Gang Attacks, Hold Ups, Import/Export and of course, Jobs will be doubled up as part of this event. Furthermore, it has been announced that the July 4 special Independence Day content that includes a Liberator monster truck, a Sovereign motorcycle, new clothes and more will not be available after Sunday, so better hurry up.

GTA Online is the multiplayer component in Rockstar Games’ extremely ambitious and highly successful GTA V which made waves in the industry upon its release last year in September. This game features not one but three different protagonists which you can switch between on the fly. It also contains massive environments that have been populated with lots of different activities you can indulge in when you’re not following its campaign. While it’s available only for the PS3 and the Xbox 360 at the moment, it is ready to be launched for the PS4, Xbox One as well as PC later this year.
If it’s been a long time since you’ve jumped into GTA Online, this weakened will be the best time to do so.
