If all goes as is being speculated, the spring of 2013 is when the GTA 5 release date is supposed to be set for. Secrecy regarding the immensely anticipated title has been Rockstar Games’ strategy till now, but a slight blunder seems to have taken place, apparently revealing the game’s launch window. An image of a European poster for this fifth main installment in the series has leaked online, providing much material for rumormongers to survive on.

As spotted by IGN, a Polish fan forum which goes by the name of GTA-Five, has a user who has posted various images of the poster in question. It bears a recently released artwork by the developer that relates to the pest control robbery bit shown in the first and only trailer of the game. Rockstar, as always, is tight-lipped about the whole matter, but it won’t be for long. The developer has confirmed that November will see the title being officially unveiled by it.
As far as the launch date is concerned, spring 2013 seems quite believable. A brokerage firm called Sterne Agee expects over 1 billion USD worth of revenue from Rockstar Games’ products in this fiscal year which is supposed to end on March 31, 2013. This way, with Max Payne 3 being the single other title from the publisher, the remaining revenue has to come from Grand Theft Auto V, thus indicating that the title will indeed launch before the end of this fiscal year.
Also, it is worth pointing out that the poster mentioned above only sports logos of the PS3 and Xbox 360. So PC gamers do have something to worry about, while potential Wii U buyers should keep their fingers crossed as well. Then again, that GTA 5 will be coming out this spring is still unconfirmed information. We’ll have more about the game as and when fresh details pop out.
