With the Sleeping Dogs Nightmare in North Point DLC release date having been set for this Halloween, gamers will soon be seeing some undead action coming their way. This content was announced at the New York Comic Con earlier this week, and it has now been unveiled with a trailer as well as some screenshots. If a post on Square Enix’s official blog is to be believed, this isn’t a ‘run of the mill’ zombie add-on, but in fact a ‘different take’ on the undead inspired from Chinese mythology.
The DLC revolves around a notorious criminal known as Big Scar Wu who used to be one of Hong Kong’s cruelest Triad gangsters. His activities proved to be annoying to his enemies and his fellow brothers in the Sun On Yee. This outraged the Grand Dragon, who decided to make an example of him, and had him stabbed 42 times before placing his bleeding corpse into the grinder at the Smiley Cat food plant.
And now, ‘fuelled by hatred and motivated by revenge,’ he has risen from the dead in the form of the Smiley Cat itself. And he’s not alone; he has a whole army of Jiang Shi with him. Smiley Cat is now out to wipe out the Sun On Yee in order to head Hong Kong’s criminal empire. The game’s protagonist Wei Shen is faced with defeating the ghosts of all those he had previously killed.
The release date of the Sleeping Dogs Nightmare in North Point DLC has been marked for Halloween which falls on October 30. It will be doled out through PSN, Xbox Live and Steam on the said date.
