Gangnam Style to enter Just Dance 4 via DLC

Seeing the magnanimous popularity that the Gangnam Style dance is currently enjoying across the globe, it would have been illogical for Ubisoft not to include it in its recently released Just Dance 4. The publisher has announced that the song will indeed be playable through the game, and will be doled out in the form of DLC for all platforms the game now sells on.

The music video launched by South Korean rapper Psy has been in the headlines for its influence around the world. Since its debut in July, it has been showered with 480 million views on YouTube alone. And it quickly managed to reach the video-sharing website’s list of top ten most-viewed clips, while even going on to become a hit with politicians, athletes, celebrities and fans.

Geoffroy Sardin, who’s the chief marketing and sales officer of Ubisoft EMEA, has mentioned that it is the company’s dedication of granting Just Dance fans the music and musicians they love that has led it to bring in Psy’s song to the game. The community was seemingly vocal about wanting the said track in the title, and hence Ubisoft has brought it to them.

This newest game in the successful series was released earlier this month for the PS3 (PS Move), Xbox 360 (Kinect) and Wii. Come November and it will also be released as a launch title for the Wii U. Although the gameplay is quite similar to the previous offerings, lots of new features have been added to it.

A definite release date for the Gangnam Style DLC of Just Dance 4 hasn’t been disclosed by Ubisoft, but it has been confirmed that it will be out in November 2012.
