As if the huge lineup of post-launch DLCs wasn’t enough, Max Payne 3 will even have a Classic Multiplayer Character pack slipped into its Special Edition copies, while for buyers of standard versions, it will be made available later on. This pack will not form a part of the content which will be doled out under the game’s Rockstar Pass.
The Classic Multiplayer Character pack kicks in a total of eight playable individuals who had featured in the previous two games. The list begins with Vladimir ‘Vlad’ Lem, the friend and foe of Max from both the titles. Vincent ‘Vinnie’ Gognitti, who too has been seen both the games, also makes his way into the multiplayer pack along with Jack Lupino, the mob boss of the Punchinello crime family.
“Presenting the full line-up of rogues and heroes in the Classic Multiplayer Character Pack available at launch as part of the Max Payne 3 Special Edition (the pack will also be made available for download post-release). This cast of fan-favorite killers from the original Max Payne and Max Payne 2 will be available as playable Deathmatch characters bringing a bit of nostalgia to the Max Payne 3 online experience,” read a post on Rockstar Games’ official blog.
The next classic character to make it into Max Payne 3 is Alfred Woden, the US senator and a member of the secret society called the Inner Circle. Mona Sax, who was even playable in some parts of Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne, will also be included in the pack. Furthermore, Valerie Winterson, Nicole Horne and Max Payne’s avatar from the previous game, will all be playable with the pack.
The Classic Multiplayer Character pack for Max Payne 3 will be comprised within the game’s special edition copies. This title has been outed for the PS3 and Xbox 360 in North America, whereas it’s scheduled to hit European markets on May 18, 2012. Its PC version however, won’t be released until May 29.
