Sniper Elite V2 Demo Now Available Through PSN and Xbox Live

505 Games has announced the launch of a playable demo for the much awaited third-person tactical shooter, Sniper Elite V2. While this demo is only available for the PS3 and Xbox 360, a PC version is also on the cards for being released later this month.

The game transpires during the final days of World War II, and is said to be a next-generation reboot to the 2005 title, Sniper Elite. It follows the story of an undercover American OSS agent, who must stalk and kill enemy targets spread across historical scenarios that include the Battle of Berlin and other such events.

In the demo, gamers will be proffered a specially prepared sequence from one of this title’s early missions. Playing as agent Karl Fairburne they will be needed to stealthily make their way through the shattered streets of Schöneberg so as to lay a booby-trap for an unsuspecting armored enemy convoy. On the mission, they will be accompanied by an expert in rocket engine technology.

This offering has been created by UK’s Rebellion Developments, which is known to be the studio behind games like NeverDead and the original Sniper Elite. The game will be launched for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC May 4, 2012, while its pre-orders can be placed currently at a number of retailers. Gamers who wish to reserve their copies of this offering can do so by paying 49.99 USD (approx. Rs. 2,575).

The Sniper Elite V2 demo is downloadable now for free through PSN and Xbox Live. Its PC version will be outed later this month.
