Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes to Kick in Loading Screens, Day/Night Cycles

Out of the very few details that are out right now about Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes this might be the most interesting. Annoying loading screens will be making their way into this current-gen open world game, perhaps set to appear when the player character will be entering new areas or buildings. And another fresh piece of news is that day to nights cycles will form an integral part of the title’s stealth-based gameplay.

While speaking to Eurogamer, iconic game director and overseer of the ambitious project, Hideo Kojima revealed that these time transitions are meant to be a device to boost the replayability factor of MGS: Ground Zeroes. It will render different scenarios depending on whether it’s day or night. Explaining this attribute, Kojima mentioned that gamers will get to witness alterations in enemy troop patters depending upon the time of day, thus asking them to decide when they would like to try the missions.

It’s still unclear as to whether this will apply to all the objectives within the game, or only for certain ones. One more interesting mechanic revealed by Kojima while offering a first glimpse of this game earlier this month was that players will be able to summon helicopters anytime in the open world environments, and these choppers can even have custom tracks playing inside them. Gamers will need to take care of the kind of music they choose however, as loud noise might give away their presence to enemies.

Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes is a PS3 and Xbox 360 game developed with the new Fox Engine, and again, it is not MGS 5. It is still to get any release date information.
