Star Wars 1313 Unveiled by LucasArts

A ‘mature themed’ third person cinematic action adventure game is what LucasArts says its new Star Wars 1313 will be. Slated to be revealed fully at next week’s E3, this title will introduce an integrated development approach, as it is being worked upon by studios such as LucasArts, Industrial Light & Magic, Lucasfilm Animation and Skywalker Sound.

In the game, players will be asked to assume control of a lethal bounty hunter in a ‘never-before-seen’ world within the Star Wars universe. The setting is said to highlight the Coruscant underworld which is described as the most dangerous place in the Star Wars galaxy. The game gets its name from Level 1313 which is a ruthless criminal underground below the surface of planet Coruscant.

“We’re excited to share one of the projects LucasArts has been hard at work developing. Star Wars 1313 dives into a part of the Star Wars mythos that we’ve always known existed, but never had a chance to visit. We are committed to bringing the best gameplay experience and visual fidelity to life and I truly believe the work we are showcasing at E3 will speak for itself,” commented Paul Meegan, President, LucasArts.

The bounty hunter whom players will be controlling has been endowed with exotic weaponry, claims LucasArts. He is faced with situations which require him to hunt down his marks and uncover the truth regarding a criminal conspiracy. This title will apparently lay emphasis on set pieces and fast-paced combat, while the hero will be bestowed with human skills and gadgets, instead of supernatural Force powers.

More information related to Star Wars 1313 is expected to be revealed at E3 which is to commence next week at Los Angeles.
