While PC gamers received a rude shock about the delay of the Windows version of Prototype 2, news of the Radnet Edition for this game was well received by console owners. No particular reason was cited by the developer for pushing the PC release date to July 24. The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions would however, release as planned on April 24.
The newly unveiled Radnet Edition of the game will be outed in limited numbers for consoles on launch day. This pack is said to comprise free access to Radnet through a one-time use code that will proffer gamers with 55 free pieces of additional content. This DLC will be delivered to them for seven weeks subsequent to the release of Prototype 2. In-game events, challenges, avatar items, dynamic themes, behind-the-scenes videos as well as bonus mutations for the game’s main campaign will all form part of this content.
Ken Rosman, Studio Head, Radical Entertainment, revealed, “Radical Entertainment has always focused on bringing long lasting fun to its fans, and Prototype 2’s Radnet content is our way of rewarding the game’s most loyal supporters – the early adopters, the one’s who will replay it over and over again. We think this is great because we’re giving our fans hours of additional gameplay outside Prototype 2’s main narrative, and cool rewards – all delivered weekly following the game’s launch!”
Furthermore, those who participate in each and every one of Radnet’s weekly challenges and events will apparently be able to unlock the ‘ultimate shape-shifting reward,’ which will be revealed by the publisher in the month of March. Developed by Radical Entertainment, this open world, action title will contain a story which transpires fourteen months after the events in the previous game.
The Prototype 2 Radnet Edition will come at no extra cost over the standard version, but it will be available in limited quantities.
