Dead Space 2: Severed Digital Download Pack Announced

Continuing the horrifying necromorphs assault, Electronic Arts unleashed a new chapter in the Dead Space universe this January. As we stepped into the realm of this installment, the terror and gore depicted through the narrative further unmasked its terrorizing face. To infuse zing into this franchise, Visceral Games has doffed the covers off a digital download pack for the game dubbed Dead Space 2: Severed.

Amplifying the series’ carpet with two stand-alone single player quests, this pack unfurls the story of Gabe Weller from the first chapter namely Dead Space Extraction. This security officer from the initial tale has been equipped with a unique suit as well as an advanced and dynamic Pulse Rifle. Fighting for survival through the Sprawl, Weller will also come across a grosteque adversary, Twitcher.

While gamers wait for this new add-on, they can fortify their arsenal with the Martial Law, Supernova and Occupational Hazard compilations. Extending the Earth Gov and Bloody Bundles, the Martial Law Pack is available along with the other two offerings on the Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network. The Supernova Pack boasts of three packages namely Forged, Heavy Duty and Agility whereas Dead Space 2: Occupational Hazard comprises the Triage, Shockpoint and Hazard bundles.

Crafted with refined weaponry and Isaac suits, the Martial Law, Supernova and Occupational Hazard packs are now up for grabs at 400 MS Points, 4.99 USD (approx. Rs. 226) and 4.99 Euro (approx. Rs. 312) each. The Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network will offer Dead Space 2: Severed starting March 1, 2011 in the US for 560 MS Points and 6.99 USD (approx. Rs. 317), respectively. PS3 owners across Europe can grab it from the PlayStation Network from March 2, 2011.
